It is 1972. Thousands of young people are drawn to India by popular cultural icons. Influenced by the music of the times and beguiled by the excesses of the counterculture, Daniel leaves Israel with nothing but a back pack, a little money and the desire to see the world. In the year that he’s on the road, he travels through Europe and Asia doing whatever is required to get by and to reach India.  His journey takes him through countries that are both brutal and beautiful and as he immerses himself in the drifter’s lifestyle of drugs and sex, the young kibbutznick discovers that the road is anything but smooth.
